Welcome!

Slightly new look, not too long of a break this time.

I'm still finding my newsletter content and cadence, but still loving the journey (of both the newsletter and my entrepreneurial career!)

WORK

This week I had the opportunity to travel to Indianapolis for a quick trip to teach at the University of Innovative Distribution.

UID is a week-long program that is - in their own words - "a concentrated educational program focused on the unique needs of the wholesale distribution industry. Since its inception in 1994, UID has become known worldwide for excellence in education. UID is sponsored by the Association Education Alliance (AEA) a consortium of 40+ distribution professional associations, in cooperation with the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation of Purdue University. Working together, these groups take great pride in providing a superior learning experience."

I've spent half of my career in Distribution, and my fractional and advisory work is concentrated in the frontline space, so this was pretty exciting to me.

I was there just 24 hours, but I got to meet leaders from all over the world, and experience the challenge of leading two almost back-to-back workshops. People and Culture topics are not always the most popular topics at a Distribution event, but I was thrilled to have engaged learners including some HR leaders, though most were outside of HR.

I was also thrilled to learn that there were a lot of companies there with leaders - inside and outside HR - pushing for change and challenging the status quo. We need more of that inside and outside Distribution!

COMMUNITY

At the beginning of the month, I started working with two new clients - one as a brand partner and the other, a Distribution company, as a Fractional/Advisory Chief People Officer.

I love working with both, but have spent a bit more time with my Distribution client because I'm helping them with a search for a Manager of People and Culture.

Why is this in Community?

I have been fortunate to develop a network of incredible leaders in HR & People and beyond over the years. So yesterday, when I posted a quick description of the role, the LinkedIn community jumped in and shared, tagged, referred and reached out.

It's an incredible job with an incredible company and there is a ton of interest, which is exciting for me - and my client!

(If it sounds of interest to you or someone you know you can find it on my LinkedIn posts below.)

Anyway, I always appreciate my LinkedIn community, but especially today. Thank you!

COFFEE

Guest coffee pic!

We make pretty frequent visits to Cape Coral Florida, where my Dad lives in the winter. It's become like a second home - the weather is beautiful (most of the time) and we have our favorite spots we love.

Like this one - The French Press at Cape Harbour. This pic is from my husband Dave, who traveled to visit my dad for a couple of nights a couple weeks ago.

It was about five degrees back in NH, so this one made me pretty jealous. And he's not quite up to my coffee photo skills but this is not bad!!

Have a great rest of your week!

Oh - one more thing! If you are headed to Transform next week, I'll be there too! I'm going to try to share another newsletter soon with all of the details on my session with Alex Seiler, and our reception and LinkedIn Live.
